Nevermind Windows 8 try the new Linux Mint "Maya"

Wow, after my slightly disappointing experience with Windows 8 recently - although to be honest the hopes were not very high from the start - I found the latest version of the Linux Mint OS and installed it. Wow, am I seriously impressed.

Here we have for the first time a completely free Operating System that can run your Windows-based apps (via Wine) and that is as easy to use as Windows - if not easier!!!

Installing applications is a breeze as you do not even have to hunt them down, you can simply open the package manager and select what you want and it is downloaded and installed all for you. It can be installed on pretty much any hardware without the need to download and find manky drivers or silly codecs so you can listen to your music or watch your series - it is an all encompassing bundle. Mention on top of that there are virtually no virus attacks on Linux systems and you have an overall winner.

The least you can do is download the Live ISO and play around with it here and then the install is literally a double-click away!

Enjoy,
Warbrad.
